Janus Pays CEO Whiston $600K

Mark Whiston, the new chief executive of mutual fund company Janus Capital, will get a salary of $600,000 this year under a new employment agreement, according to a regulatory filing Monday, Reuters reports.

Whiston will also get an annual bonus that depends on the annual performance of the company and the funds. Former Janus CEO Thomas Bailey received compensation of $544,563 in 2002 but no bonus. In 2001, he earned roughly $1.6 million in bonus, salary and other compensation.
