Top growth stock funds include Jensen Portfolio, T. Rowe Price Mid-Cap Growth and Buffalo Small Cap. The Clipper and Yacktman funds made it in the value category, while Mairs and Power Growth, Meridian Value and CGM Focus made Consumer Reports’ blend grade.

The PIMCO Fremont Bond fund run by famed manager Bill Gross was the editors’ choice in the intermediate-term corporate category. Fidelity Intermediate Bond was the top pick in the short-term corporate class. Meanwhile, four Vanguard bond funds also made the list, including the Vanguard Intermediate-Term Treasury fund.
