Many Fund Firms' Websites Lack Market data

A majority of mutual fund companies fail to include valuable investment information on their websites, according to a report from Corporate Insight.

In particular, news, commentary and quotes would attract investors and prospects and make their websites a sought-after destination, according to the report.

"Wholesale firms in particular are missing market data content," said Chris McNeil, a senior analyst at the company and author of the report. "In fact, only one provides quotes and market news, and even that has only a very limited range of market commentary."

Even among those mutual fund companies that sell directly to investors, 40% failed to present this information on their websites.
