Mariner Wealth Advisors, a Leawood, Kan., based independent investment advisory firm, announced it bought CBIZ Wealth Management, the individual wealth management firm formerly associated with CBIZ Inc.
The group joining Mariner from CBIZ includes 24 individual wealth management consultants located in Cumberland, Md., Denver, Kansas City, Mo., Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, and San Diego. They joined Mariner effective Jan. 1.
With the acquisition, terms of which were not disclosed, Mariner now has 270 wealth advisors. Each of the CBIZ individual wealth management group's offices is expected to remain open and be rebranded under the Mariner name within a year.
Mariner has $8 billion of assets under management. It offers multi-generational wealth planning, private equity and real estate opportunities, asset management, risk management and family office management.
CBIZ, which is based in Cleveland, provides professional business services and financial services including accounting and tax, internal audit, merger and acquisition advisory and valuation services.
