MassMutual, AGF Mutual Funds Receive Top Communications Awards

In its annual Portfolio Awards contest, the Financial Communications Society awarded gold awards to MassMutual Financial Group and AGF Mutual Funds for print advertising campaigns they ran last year. They were the only two fund companies to win gold awards among a group of 11 financial service companies that received the top honor.

AGF's "Hulk" advertisements won top honors in the consumer retail category both as best print single and print campaign. MassMutual's "Ouija Board," "Financial Chart" and "Cards" advertising series won top honors as the best print campaign in the corporate image category. No fund company won an award in the contest's third category for business-to-business campaigns.

Other top winners included a collection of advertisements from Citibank, for both best television single and multimedia campaign in the consumer retail category, as well as for best out-of-home campaign in the corporate image category. MetLife's "Have You Met Life Today" was a gold winner for best multimedia campaign in the corporate image category. Goldman Sachs' "Stunt Double" advertisement won top honors as best print single in the business-to-business category.

"We were thrilled with the quality and quantity of this year's entries," said Karen Quinn, national financial market manager for The Wall Street Journal and a member of the board of the Portfolio Awards.

The Financial Communications Society was founded in 1967 to encourage high standards in financial communications. This is the eighth year it has held the Portfolio Awards.
