Daniel Dart has joined Merrill Lynch Investment Managers (MLIM) as chief operating officer of the Americas third-party retail. Dart will oversee efforts to expand the firm's retail distribution through broker/dealers, registered investment advisers, insurance companies and banks.
Dart's position is new at MLIM and completes its three-part distribution strategy, according to the firm. Dart will report to Mary Taylor, head of MLIM Americas.
"Dan's appointment underscores the importance of third-party retail to MLIM's growth strategy," Taylor said. "With Dan's expertise, we expect to significantly expand our non-proprietary distribution business in the Americas."
Dart comes to MLIM from Pioneer Investments, where he served as executive vice president and head of U.S. sales. He was previously national sales manager at Alliance Capital.
