Merrill Lynch Hires Burgess as Resident Director For Chicago Monroe Office

Merrill Lynch Wealth Management has hired Gary L. Burgess from Deutsche Bank to serve as senior vice president and resident director of its Chicago Monroe office.

Burgess will manage more than 80 financial advisors with more than $8 billion in client assets.

Burgess most recently served as managing director and regional executive at Deutsche and led the firm’s Chicago business. Before that, Burgess served at Smith Barney for 12 years, where he was a senior vice president and branch manager. In that role, he led branches and complexes in Chicago and Deerfield, Ill., Dallas and Wayzata, Minn.

“Gary’s 20 [plus] years of experience will enhance our ability to offer the highest quality of service and integrated solutions Chicago’s sophisticated investors have come to expect from Merrill Lynch,” Chicago Metro Complex Director David D. Donaldson said in a statement.
