Merrill Lynch Hires Three UBS Advisors Overseeing $323M

Merrill Lynch Wealth Management has snapped up three UBS financial advisors with more than $323.2 million in client assets under management.

Lee Miller and Andrew Pleat join Merrill Lynch in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. Together, they previously had $182.6 million in client assets under management and $1.2 million in annual fees and commissions.

Miller and Pleat have been registered with Merrill Lynch since August 10, according to their public registration records with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. Miller was with UBS for more than four years, following more than 13 years at Citigroup and about eight years at Advest. Pleat spent more than four years at UBS, after about four years at Mercer Allied and three years at Citigroup.

Mark Kean also joins in Cary, N.C., after previously overseeing $140.5 million in client assets and generating more than $1.8 million in production. Kean has been registered with Merrill Lynch since August 3, according to his FINRA records, following eight years at UBS, 11 years at Citigroup and three years at Lehman Brothers.

Merrill Lynch has made headlines with other new hires from wirehouse firms this month, also including another three-member team from UBS, as well as an advisor duo from Morgan Stanley Smith Barney and two advisors from Wells Fargo's Abbot Downing business.

Other recent departures from UBS include one advisor who moved to Janney Montgomery Scott, a two-member advisor team hired by Morgan Stanley Smith Barney and another advisor who joined Wells Fargo in July.
