Miller Named GoldK CEO

Jeffrey Miller has been elected CEO by GoldK, as part of a succession plan to replace the current chairman and CEO, Brian Boyle. The plan began last spring when Miller was hired from Putnam Investments as EVP and head of distribution for GoldK.

Miller began his career as an ERISA attorney, after which he joined Smith Barney to revamp their retirement-services unit.

He is credited with developing the industry's first integrated 401(k) fiduciary management and participant advice program, 401(k) Trak, which led to a landmark exemption by the Department of Labor. The exemption allowed Smith Barney to provide advice to plan participants as far back as 1992.

Boyle said he is handing over his title as CEO to focus his efforts on his chairmanship.
