Moelis & Co. said on Tuesday it hired John Collins, a specialist in general industrial companies, as a managing director.
Collins, 42, has almost 20 years of investment banking experience.
He comes from Morgan Stanley [MS], where he was most recently a managing director in the mergers and acquisitions group. At Morgan Stanley, he advised metals and mining, paper, packaging and chemicals businesses.
Collins worked at Morgan Stanley for the full span of his career and previously also worked in the firm's real estate group in London and New York.
Collins starts working at Moelis in July and will be based at Moelis’ New York office. He becomes the eighth managing director on the general industrials team. The firm has nearly 300 employees based in offices in New York, Boston, Chicago, London, Los Angeles and Sydney.
