Monetta Funds Lowers Minimum Initial Investment

Monetta Funds, a seven-fund company based in Wheaton, Ill., lowered the minimum initial investment to $50 for investors signing up for an automatic investment plan of at least $25 a month. Previously, the minimum initial investment was $250.

"Despite the stock market's recent performance, no-load mutual funds remain an excellent investment option for many investors, especially those with smaller investment portfolios," the company said in a statement. Monetta Funds manages a large-cap, a mid-cap and a small-cap equity fund; a money market fund, a balanced fund and an intermediate bond fund, as well as the Monetta Fund, a small-cap growth fund. All are no-load funds.
