Money Market Fund Assets Decrease

Money market fund assets dropped to $2.267 trillion for the week ending Wednesday, Oct. 31, down $10.58 billion for the same period the prior week, according to the Investment Company Institute.

Retail assets dropped $4.06 billion to just less than $1.1 trillion. Taxable money market fund assets fell $3.67 billion to $911 billion and tax-exempt fund assets decreased $382.6 million to $186.72 billion, according to ICI.

Institutional money market fund assets fell $6.53 billion to $1.169. Institutional taxable money market fund assets decreased $7.31 billion to $1.098 trillion. Tax-exempt institutional funds increased $787.5 million to $80.04 billion, the ICI said.
