Morgan Stanley Adds Latin American Team

In an effort to expand operations in Latin America, Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management announced Monday it hired four executives to serve ultra wealthy individuals in Venezuela and Colombia.

The team, which will be based in Miami, includes two advisors, Executive Director Luis Miguel Gonzalez Ocque and Vice President Alan Shlesinger, Vice President Christina Arguelles and Client Sales Associate Eduardo Alvarez.

The group, which worked together at Barclays Wealth, will report to Adriana Pineiro, an executive director and regional sales manager for Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management.

"We are delighted that this successful team with extensive knowledge of the Latin American region has decided to join Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management," Pineiro said in a press release. "We are committed to capitalizing on the growth opportunities that we see in the region and this team will further enhance our efforts."

Before being hired at Barclays, Ocque worked at Lehman Brothers and American Express. Shlesinger worked at Lehman Brothers before being hired at Barclay.

Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management, which is a unit of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, provides investment and private banking services to ultra-wealthy individuals and families in the United States, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
