Morningstar's European subsidiaries, Morningstar Spain and Morningstar Germany, recently launched Web sites in those countries, providing investors with country-specific information, ratings, news and commentary on funds, the company announced today.

Morningstar's German Web site was launched May 15 and its Spanish Web site was launched June 6, said Sylvester Flood, business manager for Morningstar Europe.

The sites will also include portfolio tools that will allow investors to search the sites' database to match funds with a set of criteria as well as examine funds' portfolios, according to the company.

Morningstar opened a European headquarters in London in April 2000. It launched country specific Web sites in the U.K., Italy and the Netherlands this year.
