Mutual of Omaha Takes Participants Online

The Retirement Plans Division of Mutual of Omaha is launching an online education system called SmartPlan Enterprise to provide risk tolerance and investment strategies to its participants.

The technology behind the system is provided by online media vendor vWise, which develops media services for a number of financial service firms.

The system, which Mutual of Omaha is offering at no additional cost to plan advisors or sponsors, can be branded with the provider or sponsor logo. Sponsors can also choose which plan provisions the hosts will discuss, such as auto-enrollment, loans and matching contributions.

“Mutual of Omaha is committed to helping advisors and plan sponsors succeed by creating avenues to help them educate participants,” said Tim Bormann, 401(k) product-line director for Mutual of Omaha, in a statement. “SmartPlan is yet another example of how Mutual of Omaha provides services and support to help advisors become more efficient, stand out in a crowded marketplace and add greater value to their clients.”
