NAIFA Hopes to Add Industry Membership

The National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) is creating the position of director of industry relations to increase membership and improve relations with the insurance industry.

Matthew D’Uva, vice president of membership and association services, is heading up the industry relationship program and will oversee the new position. Better involvement with the insurance industry has been a goal of the organization, but the support structure had not been in place to accomplish that, said David F. Woods, president. "While I have made it one of my priorities to work more closely with insurance companies and industry trade associations to support our membership efforts, we have not had the structure to follow up," Woods said.

The new director will be responsible for relations with insurance companies, insurance organizations and state and local organizations.
