Nasdaq, Jasdaq Continue Exploring Joint Venture

The Nasdaq Stock Market and Jasdaq Securities Exchange are continuing to explore setting up coordinated efforts, including a capital alliance, Jasdaq President and CEO Takashi Tsutsui tells The Wall Street Journal.

Ideas that are being flouted include joint listings and listing Nasdaq ETFs and Japanese depository receipts on Nasdaq stocks on the Japanese exchange.

“As various strategies come together and are more nicely arranged in the future, then, in order to strengthen our relationship, some sort of capital tie-up could be a quite effective way of tightening the relationship,” Tsutsui said.
