Nationwide Exec to Retire

Robert Woodward, executive VP and chief investment officer at Nationwide and Nationwide Financial, will retire after 37 years with the company. Woodward, who joined the company in 1964 as a mortgage loan underwriter, will leave when the firm names a replacement.

"His vision and strong leadership will be greatly missed by Nationwide and the many Nationwiders who have benefited from his mentorship," said CEO W. G. Jursensen, in a statement.

Woodward has held his current post at the Columbus, Ohio-based firm since 1995.
