Nelson Ranks Top Money Managers for 3Q

Nelson Information, a subsidiary of Corporation, issued its quarterly performance rankings for the investment management industry on Monday.

Matthews International Capital Management received the top honors in the international equity category for its Matthews Japan Fund, which posted a 37.26% return in the third quarter. The fund’s top holding is consumer electronics manufacturer Matsushita Electric Works, which sells products under the JVC and Panasonic brand names. In the international fixed income category, the Everest Capital Senior Debt Limited Fund placed first with its 9.65% quarterly return.

The top spot among U.S. equity funds went to Abernathy Financial Services for its Aggressive Appreciation 100 Strategy offering, which generated a whopping 58.52% return. Within the U.S. bond universe, the SMH Capital Advisors High Income Fund was ranked number one with a 6.85% return.

"It’s critical for our customers to know which institutional investment managers and portfolios have performed well and had the most positive results during a given time period," said Suresh Kavan, president of Thomson Financial’s Global Customer Segments group.
