NewRiver Investor Communications, an Internet technology company of Watertown, Mass., announced the opening of an office in Toronto last week.
With a base in Canada, NewRiver will be be able to assist Canadian brokerages, banks and mutual fund companies with electronic investor communications.
NewRiver's Canadian expansion will be led by Mark Weseluck, formerly vice president of banking operations for the Canadian Bankers Association.
The entrance into the Canadian market signals NewRiver's move towards global expansion. A company spokesperson declined to say where the company intended to expand next.
