Over 90% of broker-dealers are planning on hiring retail brokers within the coming year, and none are in a complete hiring freeze, according to a study by BrokerHunter.com. Analysts, on the other hand, are much less in demand, with only 5.6% of firms hiring and less than a quarter looking to add sales assistants.
Independent broker-dealers have the most aggressive campaigns, with 60% planning to add at least twice as many hires to key positions such as broker and branch manager; 42.9% of regional firms, 30.8% of banks, and 27.8% of wirehouses plan similar strategies.
Hiring incentives remain conservative, with no independent broker-dealers and only 14% of wirehouses and regional firms offering up-front money.
