Samson Koo has joined Advisors Asset Management as managing director and head of derivative products. Previously, Koo had been head of equity derivative structuring, Americas, at Barclays Capital.

 


 

Curian Capital, based in Denver, has hired Mike Petko as divisional vice president for the eastern region. Petko will oversee a team of Curian's business consultants and manage the company's distribution efforts in the eastern sector. Petko formerly was executive vice president and national sales manager for Transamerica Capital, where he was responsible for overseeing four divisional vice presidents and 52 wholesalers in the sales group.

 


 

Elaine King, CFP, has joined the Miami-based Lubitz Financial Group as managing director of wealth planning. King is chair and president of the Financial Planning Association of Miami- Dade, and is author of the book Family and Money Matters. Previously, King was a financial advisor in the U.S. division of the Royal Bank of Scotland.

 


 

Merion Wealth Partners has appointed Richard Hughes as president to spearhead recruiting efforts there. Merion is designed to become 100% advisor-owned, and Hughes will work to attract advisors who want to remain active equity partners in the firm. The group is headquartered in Berwyn, Pa., and has an office in Los Angeles.
