Oppenheimer Arms Advisors With IRA Tools

The more than 30,000 financial advisors that do business with OppenheimerFunds are likely to breathe a bit easier this tax season with the rollout of a full suite of marketing and sales tools designed to help them expand their IRA businesses.

As part of the firm's plans to help advisors become more efficient and competitive at their jobs, OppenheimerFunds added 15 online retirement calculators to its Web site. The company also introduced a 2005 IRA compact disc, created personalized postcards for advisors to use with clients, and rolled out a seasonal sales guide, said Teresa Ward, vice president of retirement plans at the firm.

Spokesman Sean Williamson pointed out that advisors are very busy during the tax season and need tools at their fingertips to help them be more efficient. He said the compact disc incorporates a slew of sales materials including brochures, prospecting tools, presentations, seminars and an asset-allocation worksheet along with data forms that advisors can fill out in advance, and save to their desktops for client meetings.

Meanwhile, the seasonal sales guide provides advisors with updated information on contribution limits, quick access to forms and client contact information, and the capability to discuss rollovers with clients. A trained team of support staff is also ready to help advisors understand required minimum distribution rules and facilitate the rollover process.
