Orbitex Adds Former SEC Attorney

Orbitex Fund Services has named Stephen Schuyler general counsel for the firm, Kevin Meehan, president of Orbitex said. Schuyler replaces David Bardsley, who left the firm "to pursue other opportunities," said a spokesman for the company.

Schuyler will be responsible for providing legal counsel and advice for the firm, primarily focusing on issues pertaining to the Investment Company Act of 1940 in support of Orbitex clients, the spokesman said.

Schuyler is a Securities and Exchange Commission veteran. He served in the SEC's Boston district office for six years as attorney advisor and enforcement attorney. He has also served as chief of enforcement and as a securities investigator with the State of Maine Securities Office.

Most recently, Schuyler was with Citizens Funds, where he served as VP and general counsel.
