Orbitex Financial Services Group has hired Jeffrey Connors as its president and COO. The appointment is part of the New York firm's broader expansion strategy, according to CEO Richard Stierwalt.
Connors, who replaces Kevin Meehan, will oversee five Orbitex subsidiaries: Orbitex Management, Inc., which is the investment advisor to Orbitex's mutual funds; Circle Trust Company, LLP, an institutional services provider; Clarke Lanzen Skalla Investment Firm, Inc., an Omaha, Neb.-based asset manager; Orbitex Fund Services, Inc., which provides fund service administration; and Orbitex Distribution Services, Inc., a mutual fund distribution, marketing and sales firm. Connors will also oversee finance and technology at Orbitex.
Before joining Orbitex, he spent 25 years at JP Morgan Chase & Co., most recently serving as SVP. There, he specialized in p&l management, finance, e-commerce and operational restructuring.
