Peter Jones Will Head Seligman's Institutional Sales

J. & W. Seligman & Co. of New York announced today that it has hired Peter M. Jones to lead new marketing, business development and client services efforts to endowments, foundations and corporate funds.

Jones fills a newly-created senior vice president for institutional sales position and will work out of New York. The move represents a push by the company to attract new institutional clients, according to the company.

Previously, Jones was managing director of institutional sales and client services in the U.S. equity division of Allianz. He has also managed sales, marketing and client services teams at Oppenheimer, which was acquired by Allianz.

J. & W. Seligman & Co. reported $29 billion in assets under management as of March 31, 2001.
