PIMCO Snags Two Lord Abbett Loan Portfolio Managers

Newport Beach Calif.-based PIMCO has nabbed two bank loan portfolio managers from investment management firm Lord Abbett & Co.

Elizabeth MacLean and Jason Duko will join PIMCO in early April, according to a company statement. They will work in Newport Beach and report to Marc Seidner, a managing director and senior member of the portfolio management group.

At Jersey City, N.J.-based Lord Abbett, MacLean oversaw that firm's bank loan and structured product areas. She was previously a leveraged loan portfolio manager at Nomura Corporate Research and Asset Management, and before that served as a portfolio manager at Pilgrim Investments.

Duko was an associate portfolio manager at Lord Abbett, also focusing on bank loans and structured products. Before joining that firm in 2006, he was an assistant portfolio manager with Nomura Corporate Research and Asset Management in New York.

Christopher Towle, a Lord Abbett partner and director, has assumed lead portfolio management responsibility for the Lord Abbett Floating Rate Fund and related bank loan portfolios, according to a company spokeswoman. The firm is looking to add another senior professional to its bank loan team, she added.
