Principal Financial Group has designed a seminar series to aid individual investors to understand the ways in which they can increase their retirement savings, and at the same time still meet the demands of their current financial situation.
"Before we can address the savings rate in this country, we have to address the spending rate. When you look at the enormity of household debt, it is no wonder that many Americans are struggling to save, and many even need to return to work during retirement to make ends meet," said Monica Kirgan, vice president of retirement and investor services at Principal. "We know people are hungry for education. With these new seminars, Principal can help individual investors and advisers learn techniques to manage debt as well as help them better understand ways to save for retirement."
Seminars are available on debt reduction, retirement savings vehicles and social security.
"With fewer defined benefit pensions, today's workers carry more of the burden for their financial futures," Kirgan said. "These helpful new programs will help participants, regardless of their age, better understand their retirement savings options and better plan for their futures.
