Putnam Fires Two Equity Managers

Putnam Investments has fired two more of its equity fund managers, one of them the manager of an aggressive growth fund that has trailed its peers, Reuters reports.

The two latest casualties are Eric Wetlaufer, who had run the $3.8 billion Putnam Vista fund, and Lisa Svensson, skipper of the Putnam Global Natural Resources fund. The news comes on the heels of the firm’s announcement that Michael Mufson, a 10-year Putnam veteran who had overseen the OTC & Emerging Growth fund, and Dana Clark, a 16-year veteran who had been one of the lead managers of the Vista fund, were leaving the firm.

Putnam has been hard hit with performance more disappointing than most, Reuters reports.
