Putnam to Sponsor U.S. Ski Team, Snowboarding

Putnam Investments will become the exclusive mutual fund sponsor of the U.S. Ski Team and sponsor of U.S. Snowboarding, for the next four seasons sponsoring U.S. athletes in the sports of alpine, freestyle and cross-country skiing, ski jumping, snowboarding and Nordic combined skiing.

The sponsorship will extend through the next winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia in 2014.

Putnam noted that the U.S. Ski Team and U.S. Snowboarding athletes have been increasingly successful in the Winter Olympics games in recent years, and for the past two seasons, the asset manager has sponsored Olympic gold medal-winning skier Ted Ligety.
