Pyxis Develops PDA Software for Fund, Annuity Wholesalers

Pyxis Consulting, a provider of technology solutions for the investment management industry, has announced the release of new personal digital assistant software for mutual fund and annuity wholesalers.

Called mWholesaler, the software provides sales data on a BlackBerry, PocketPC or Palm. According to Pyxis, there has been significant customer demand for immediate wireless access, as sales reps are often away from their desks. "The integrated wireless capabilities of the Blackberry fit well with wholesalers’ need for timely access to sales, producer and e-mail data in the field," according to a release from the firm.

"The BlackBerry has been adopted by a number of our investment management clients due to its always-on access to e-mail," said Tod Christy, managing director of Pyxis Consulting. "mWholesaler goes well beyond e-mail to allow wholesalers to view firm, branch and rep sales data and contact history; track sales calls and view daily sales reports. The immediate access to this critical information makes the BlackBerry a valuable extension of our clients’ CRM [customer relationship management] systems."
