RBC grabbed a team managing $270 million in assets from Janney Montgomery Scott.

To further its hiring efforts, RBC has leveraged virtual recruiting tools in light of restrictions imposed by the coronavirus pandemic.

“We’re continuing to embrace digital tools to recruit, onboard and support new advisors when they join RBC,” said Scott Ceniccola, director of the firm’s Philadelphia complex.

The firm’s new hires are based out of Mount Laurel, New Jersey, and Conshohoken, Pennsylvania, according to RBC. The team is comprised of Clark Mangan, James Ernst, and David Rankin. They had worked at Janney for 11 years, and were previously affiliated with Wachovia Securities, according to FINRA BrokerCheck records.

The team cited RBC’s marketing capabilities and digital client experience as reasons for the move.

“We are a planning-forward group of advisors, and the products, tools and overall platform at RBC will allow us to serve clients and grow our practice,” Mangan said in a statement. “Culturally, this is a great fit for our team, and the investments RBC is making in its digital capabilities is impressive.”

The three advisors are all industry veterans. Mangan has 25 years of experience in the business, according to BrokerCheck. Ernst has 26 years of experience, and Rankin has 22.

RBC has approximately $379 billion in total client assets and 2,000 advisors, according to the firm.
