RBC Lures $4 Million Smith Barney Team

RBC Wealth Management has hired John Menefee and Tom Meagher from Morgan Stanley Smith Barney to join its Bend, Oregon branch.

Menefee and Meagher previously oversaw more than $300 million in client assets and generated $4 million in fees and commissions. The pair specialize in equities and fixed income, with about half their clients retail and the other half institutional, according to an RBC spokesperson.

Menefee has 25 years and Meagher has 17 years of industry experience. They started at RBC on January 15.

The pair was recruited by industry veteran and Portland complex director, Richard Sorenson. “John and Tom bring a vast amount of experience and knowledge, and we are very fortunate to have them join us at the firm,” says Sorenson.

This move follows the recent defection of another high-producing Morgan Stanley Smith Barney team to Merrill Lynch. (For more on this click here.)
