RBS Wealth CEO to Resign

RBS Wealth Management announced that its chief executive officer, John Baines, will resign at the end of the month “to pursue other interests.”

Jane Goodwins, a spokeswoman for RBS Wealth, confirmed Friday that Baines is leaving the company. She said the company has started a search for a replacement “both internally and externally.”

Baines is also a member of the board of directors at several RBS units - Coutts Bank von Ernst Ltd, Coutts & Co., Adam & Co., Coutts International Asia, RBS International, RBSI Holdings Ltd., and RBS Asset Management Ltd. He became CEO at RBS Wealth Management in January 2006 after working at the firm for four years. He joined the company in 2002 as finance director of its Coutts Group and in March 2003 he moved to its wealth management arm.

Before being hired at RBS, he worked at UBS [UBS] and JPMorgan.
