Retirement Benefits Group Adds Fraser Group Trio

Retirement Benefits Group on Monday announced that three retirement specialists from Morgan Stanley Smith Barney’s The Fraser Group have joined the San Diego-based retirement-focused branch of LPL Financial.

Joining RBG are George Fraser, who headed The Fraser Group, along with advisors Frederic Amberg and Troy Haugen. Company officials called Fraser, who consulted on $300 million in retirement plan assets held in 35 retirement plans at his old firm, is considered one of the top retirement plan specialists in the country, having developed a client service and retirement education approach that the Arizona Republic lauded as "a model for 401(k) change."  

In his new role, Mr. Fraser will be responsible for overseeing the firm's newly created "Passion for the Participant" retirement-plan education services division.

RBG provides brokerage and retirement plan services to clients through LPL Financial LLC LPL Financial began the expansion of its retirement-plan business in 2010 when it acquired National Retirement Partners, a highly regarded affiliation of independent retirement-plan advisors.

Fraser and Amberg will continue to operate from their offices in Scottsdale, Ariz. while Mr. Haugen will service RBG's clients in the Pacific Northwest from its Portland, Ore. office.
