S&P Unveils New Tool For Advisers, Brokers

Standard & Poor's recently unveiled a new research product based on research by 60 of its analysts, designed to help brokers and financial planners choose equity market sectors.

Known as Sector Investor, the tool allows users to view the best and worst performing sectors within the S&P SuperComposite 1500 Index. The tool is based on research from Standard & Poor's Chief Investment Strategist Sam Stovall and his team of equity analysts. It was developed as part of Standard & Poor's Advisor Insight product suite for advisers and brokers.

The tool includes a one-screen overview of the best and worst performing industries within the index for the previous week. It also weights each industry within the S&P 15000 index and gives percentage price changes.

In addition, the product highlights information about which industries saw the most change in the day's market. Other features include S&P opinions about different sectors, focused analysis of industries and model portfolios of sectors with potential for high returns.
