Schwab Introduces Fund Information Service

Charles Schwab of San Francisco has introduced a new information service on its website designed to make fund research and analysis easier for clients of its OneSource fund supermarket, the firm announced today.

The service, called DirectDetails, will offer investors access to information that will allow them to better understand the past performance of their funds as well as each fund managers’ outlook on future performance and trends, the company said.

The information will include performance analysis, company and fund histories and profiles, manager commentary, fund prospectuses and annual reports.

Information about Janus Funds and INVESCO, both of Denver, and American Century of Kansas City, Mo. is currently on the site. Firsthand Funds of San Jose, Calif. and Dreyfus Funds of New York will be added soon, according to the company.

This is the first time a mutual fund supermarket sponsor has offered information about funds in the supermarket, on its website, according to Schwab.
