SEC to Hold First National CCO Outreach Seminar

The Securities and Exchange Commission will host its first national CCO Outreach Seminar on Nov. 8 at the Commission's headquarters. With space available for only 500, the SEC is accepting registrations at http://www.sec.gov/about/offices/ocie/ccoutreach.htm and giving priority to chief compliance officers. The SEC will also webcast the all-day meeting at its home page.

The Commission has not yet determined an agenda but promises to cover the latest policy developments and cover questions CCOs and other legal representatives have raised at regional seminars.

"With almost half of all U.S. households now invested in mutual funds, insuring compliance with SEC standards is more important than ever before," said SEC Chairman Chrisopher Cox in a statement. "Robust and effective mutual fund and investment advisor compliance is critical to public confidence."
