SEI Debuts Mutual Fund Analytical Tool

SEI Investments, a global provider of asset management, fund processing and investment technology solutions, announced a new product Friday called Product Analysis.

A mutual fund diagnostic tool, Product Analysis can help fund companies and their sales partners find new ways to market their funds by using statistical information and benchmarking tools from numerous date sources. This should prove particularly helpful to mutual fund wholesalers, who have had to build more of a relationship and offer in-depth consulting to their clients, according to SEI.

SEI developed Product Analysis by working closely with Union Bank of California and the bank’s proprietary HighMark mutual fund business.

"Understanding the competitive landscape is essential in evaluating growth opportunities and distribution strategies. We are not just gathering essential data," said SEI Vice President Ross Ellis. " We’re taking that information, analyzing it, and then recommending specific courses of action to our fund clients so they can better position their funds and make them more competitive."

SEI currently admininsters $230 billion in mutual fund and pooled assets, manages $78 billion in assets, processes $50 trillion of investment transactions annually and operates 21 offices in 10 countries.
