Senior Putnam Executive Plans to Retire

Thomas Lucey, a senior managing director at Putnam Investments, will retire at the end of June, the company announced yesterday.

Lucey, who oversees Putnam’s retail, institutional and retirement management business, will be replaced by Steven Spiegel, one of the company’s seven other senior managing directors.

Spiegel currently oversees Putnam’s international distribution and corporate development efforts. He will assume Lucey’s duties while continuing with his current assignment.

Putnam of Boston is the nation’s fourth largest mutual fund company with $321 billion under management as of the end of March, according to the company.
