State Street Hires Chief Of Equities Investments

State Street Research & Management Co. recently announced that C. Kim Goodwin is joining the firm on Sept. 3 as its new chief investment officer in its equities division.

Goodwin will oversee all of the firm's equity investments and lead a team of more than 50 portfolio managers, analysts and traders. She will be reporting to Richard S. Davis, president and chief executive of the firm.

Goodwin previously served as the chief investment officer for American Century's domestic growth equity discipline. In this role, she presided over a department of more than 40 investment professionals managing $38 billion in assets.

Prior to American Century, Goodwin was a senior vice president with Putnam Investments, where she served as a portfolio manager on the Putnam Vista Fund and the Putnam U.S. Growth Fund. She has also held various portfolio management and investment research positions with Prudential Investments and Mellon Bank.
