State Street Global Advisors, the investment management arm of State Street Corp. in Boston, promoted Peter Leahy Tuesday to chief operating officer. Leahy is to report to Tim Harbert, the unit's chairman and chief executive officer. Paul Brakke, senior principal, is to succeed Leahy as head of the global structured products group. The new operations chief has worked 13 years for State Street Global Advisors. In his new role, he will oversee finance, technology, operations, and human resources. Leahy joined State Street in 1991 as a member of its global structured products group, which he has managed since 1996. The group has expanded significantly and today manages more than $500 billion of assets. |
