TCW Re-Names Mutual Fund Division

TCW Galileo Funds' board of directors has announced that it has decided to change the name of its mutual fund division to the TCW Funds, starting Feb. 22.

"This change is intended to communicate a consistent brand message across all of our distribution channels," said Alvin R. Albe, Jr., president and CEO of the TCW Funds. "We plan to focus our branding efforts on the TCW name, which has been our calling card for more than 35 years. Going forward, the TCW Funds will continue bringing to individual investors the talent, discipline and experience of the same portfolio managers who are at the helm of TCW's institutional investment strategies."

The mutual fund complex is made up of 21 funds, which include growth and value equities, fixed income and international strategies.
