TD Ameritrade Institutional, a division of TD Ameritrade Inc., announced Thurday it launched an education center for registered investment advisors.
The "learning management system and knowledge center" was created to provided professional development resources, tools and content in one place.The new online education platform is designed to help advisors develop the skills of key employees.
“As the business of providing advice continues to become more complex and competitive, advisors need to invest in professional development to enhance their staffs’ knowledge and skill sets to stay sharp in today’s changing market place,” said Jeff Rossi, director of human capital development & advisor education, TD Ameritrade Institutional. “Leveraging the human capital resources and expertise of TD Ameritrade Institutional, the education portal will be a key resource for advisors and we are pleased to be the first custodian in the industry to offer a formal, comprehensive advisor education program.”
The learning management system will allow advisors and their employees to access information and education on investment and planning strategies, practice management, technology, and operations.
Advisors can also track staff learning activities, participation and progress. Advisors will also have access to TD Ameritrade Institutional Solutions Consultants who can assist in the development of human capital strategies.
TD Ameritrade has named Tess Kristensen as dean of advisor education to run the new initiative. Kristensen will draw on her experience in developing and managing corporate universities to deliver educational programs and learning opportunities for advisors.
Kristensen is responsible for the educational content available on the platform. Content can be searched through an online catalog and can be accessed through a variety of channels including computer-based training, whitepapers, webcasts and seminars.
Additional educational opportunities at TD Ameritrade Institutional include advisor peer groups, professional developiment events, and a knowledge library.
