Los Angeles-based Transamerica Investment Management has hired a former Janus executive to oversee the development of an institutional sales team and expand the company's distribution efforts, Transamerica said last week.
David Lubchenco will serve as Transamerica's director of institutional sales and will work from the company's Denver office. He was most recently an assistant VP at Janus where he worked with insurance companies to design and distribute investment management services as well as variable insurance products.
Lubchenco also worked for five years in retail fund sales, Transamerica said.
The company oversees roughly $12 billion in mutual fund, separate account, institutional, pension and variable insurance assets and has offices in San Francisco in addition to its Los Angeles and Denver locations.
