Investment manager Turner Investment Partners has hired William Costin to market the firm’s sub-advisory services and family of mutual funds throughout a 14-state region in the northern U.S., the firm said today.

The move is part of a year-long effort to ramp up the firm’s sub-advisory business by hiring a several executives who will boost the firm’s sales through intermediaries. The company has hired nine new staff in 13 months to take part in the initiative.

Costin will serve as a regional account director in that unit and will be responsible for marketing the firm’s sub-advisory services as well as the Turner Funds, a family of 19 no-load products managed by the company. The products will be targeted at the defined contribution and fee-based investment advisor channels.

Costin, 34, previously served as CEO of Connectys, which develops software for higher education.
