Unsung IT Heroes, Claim Your Fame!

Without their massive operations labyrinth and powerful technology engines, the mutual fund and separately managed account industries would not be $8 trillion retail behemoths they are today.

It's information technology that ensures shareholder balances are accurate and up to date. IT is why index funds holding positions in hundreds of securities can make those investments. IT is how SMAs offer customized portfolios to investors. And IT is how fund companies reach millions of customers and thousands of selling partners every day.

Money Management Executive realizes the invaluable contributions that operations systems, platforms and their dedicated personnel make to investment management, which is why we are hosting Thomson Media's 2004 Fund Operations Awards, our second annual program. Winners in three categories (with first, second and third place winners in each category) will be announced at the National Investment Company Services Association Annual Meeting in Wellesley, Mass., June 21. These winners will also be honored in a special feature in that week's edition of MME.

If your firm or one of your clients, on behalf of your firm, would like to submit a nomination within the Leadership, Innovations or Efficiencies categories, or all three, submit your entries by Monday, April 26. (See information on the awards' criteria and links to the entry forms, page 25.)

Don't remain an unsung hero! Sing a little!
