Van Eck Launches Market Vectors Poland ETF

Van Eck Global has introduced the Market Vectors Poland ETF, an exchange-traded fund that offers investors pure-play exposure to Poland, the world’s 18th largest economy.

Van Eck said now is an opportune time to invest in Poland due to its growing consumer economy, strong domestic consumption and sustained foreign direct investment.

“Poland is the largest and fastest growing economy in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE),” said Jan van Eck, principal of Van Eck Global. “Poland’s economy has recently surpassed Belgium and Sweden and is one of the only economies in the CEE region to show positive growth this year. While this nascent economy certainly comes with its share of risks, we are pleased to offer an ETF that seeks to reflect the Polish stock market structure.”

The fund is linked to the Market Vectors Poland Index, comprised of 26 stocks, 40% of which are financials, followed by energy companies (14%) and industrials (11%).
