Waddell & Reed hired away an advisor from J.P. Morgan, who was managing $102 million in client assets, the regional brokerage said.
John Gordy was working for J.P. Morgan out of Edmond, Okla., and will continue to do so for Waddell & Reed, the firm said. Gordy had worked with J.P.Morgan since 2012, according to his FINRAs BrokerCheck records. He began his career with New York-based AXA Advisors in 2000.
Earlier this year, Waddell & Reed added eight financial advisors with combined assets of $330 million prior to joining the firm.
The Overland Park, Kan., based firm has about 1,800 advisors, and has more than $123 billion in total assets under management as of March 31, according to a company statement.
