The Dow Jones Industrial average rallied up another 135 points, or 1.2%, to close at 11,284.54 Friday, closing out a week that saw gold prices swoon and some semblance of investor confidence restored.

The Nasdaq composite stormed up 60 points to finish at 2,479.85 while the S&P 500 rose 17.53 points to 1,176.80. The gains come ahead of what could be a complicated and messy week with Hurricane Irene closing in on the East Coast.
